Cubic Fluorite with Beryl on Feldspar Matrix from Erongo Mountain, Erongo Region, Namibia
This Fluorite specimen appears green in daylight, but has a mix of blue, green, and brown when backlit. There is a singular Beryl crystal on the side of the Fluorite. This specimen is self standing.

The cause of the beautiful green colour is unknown, it may be related to associated radioactive or rare-earth species, samples where tested and yielded surprising results; isotopes in the rare-earth element lanthanide series; lanthanum, ytterbium, cerium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium and holmium were detected although amounts were not determined.
