These crystals are natural and got their smoky colour from natural radiation emanating from other minerals while the crystal is growing.
Smoky Quartz is used for Grounding and Cleansing.
The pegmatites of Mount Malosa are famous for beautiful Smokey Quartz crystals as well as Aegirine and Zircon. The mining area is at a high elevation and difficult to reach. Miners must bring supplies for several days as it is not possible to go and up and down in a single day.
